Affirmations for Change

"Affirmations are like prescriptions for certain aspects of yourself you want to change." - Jerry Frankhauser

I came across this quote in a book I was reading, and it really spoke to me. I am a lifelong learner and my mission in life is to keep on improving everyday. I like to say that if I improve a little every day, I'm going in the right direction. It doesn't matter how small the improvement is, it doesn't matter what I improve at, as long as there's a little improvement every day, I'm happy.

I know I'm not perfect, and I don't need to be perfect, but I love who I am. Now, that doesn't mean that I can't change; I don't quite believe statements like, "This is who I am, I can't change, so take it or leave it." That's a complete cop-out statement, if you ask me, and many people use it as an excuse to misbehave.

There are many different things you can change about yourself; no one is asking you to change your personality, and in fact, you totally shouldn't change that about yourself, but attitudes, behaviors, beliefs, abilities, etc... can be changed, and should be improved upon.

The world keeps moving forward, and if you stay stagnant, you are effectively moving backward because everything and everyone is going to leave you behind.

So anyway, changing myself, learning new things. There are so many things I would like to learn and improve on; I want to learn to play an instrument, I want to learn to read and write Chinese, I want to exercise more and eat right, I want to write a novel, I want to spend more time doing crafts, and the list goes on.

I believe in the power of the Universe, and I believe that affirmations are like prayers to the Universe, positive energy sent out and gaining power to manifest into truth for you. My affirmation: I learn something new every day and I improve a little bit every day because I believe this, and I made it my mission in my life to do so.

Monday - Eight of Coins

The dragon is in the middle of the black forest, surrounded by three scorpions that seem to be pinching her. She raises one of her legs to avoid the pinching, but she looks unconcerned, as if these scorpions are nothing more than pesky problems, minor annoyances but nothing worth worrying over. She is focused and confident and keeps on doing what she's doing, regardless of these pests. 

Interpretation: Monday brings deadlines, pressures to finish your work or project. Focus on your work and ignore the people who keep interrupting you every few minutes to ask if you've finished. You are a confident and diligent person, and there is no doubt that your efforts will bring you great rewards in your career. 

Tuesday - The High Priestess

The high priestess stands over her cauldron, she pours a rainbow elixir into the cauldron with her left hand, while her right hand holds a scroll of runes. Above her in the skies, there is the planet Earth and the symbol of yin and yang. The two pillars on either side of her are opposites, one light and the other dark. She gazes at you, looking deep within you into your deepest thoughts and feelings. "I know you," she says.

Interpretation: Trust your intuition on Tuesday. Look within yourself and reflect on what your next step may be. After Monday's project has been finished, Tuesday is a new day with plans for new projects. Ask yourself what's next, weigh the pros and cons, prepare for all contingencies, and get all your tools, materials, and ingredients ready. 

Wednesday - Six of Coins

The dragon sits on a rock, he seems spaced-out and unsure of what to do next. In his hand, he holds a scale. He sits and contemplates on how to find balance in his life, but he is relaxed and backed by the knowledge that he has built a solid foundation (the rock) that he can lean on. 

Interpretation: Wednesday brings some uncertainty on how to proceed. Balance is an issue, perhaps you are neglecting other parts of your life. It's good to be fast and efficient in your work, but sometimes, working efficiently also means taking the time to regroup and relax. You've build a solid foundation, you deserve to be able to rest on it a little while.

Thursday - Nine of Coins

This dragon floats above the ground and gazes calmly into the future. The past is behind him, all the struggles and challenges he has faced has brought him to where he is now. The future looks bright and he is ready to face whatever it brings.

Interpretation: Thursday is a day for moving on. All reflection and relaxation is done and has refreshed you, you are ready for whatever comes next. Rest assured that you are strong and resourceful, and that the uncertain future holds no fears for you because you know that you have the power to face it all. 

Friday - Six of Cups (reversed)

It is night with a full moon lighting the sky, and a fleet of ships are sailing across the water and arriving at a new land. Dolphins swim along with the leader ship, friendly and curious. The other ships are close behind, following the lead. 

Interpretation: The reversed Six of Cups suggests that you want to explore uncharted territory, perhaps a new romance or something that you are passionate about, but you are experiencing a delay in launching your ships. The good news is that there is much support for your new venture, and although it is strange and unknown territory to you, you will receive lots of help and guidance to light your way. The reversed card suggests that you may be holding back from fear or there is something delaying your adventure. Resolve the problem and work to make it happen! 

Saturday - Four of Cups (reversed)

Three dragons are gathering on a rock in the middle of a body of water. Another dragon flies overhead and they all look to him. "Come join us," they seem to say and welcome him into their party. 

Interpretation: Saturday is a day for socializing. Go and hang out with your friends. The reversed card suggests that you might not feel like putting on your party dress and going out, and perhaps even that you have focused so much on your career that you have neglected your friends, but it is important to reconnect with them. 

Sunday - Seven of Wands

This dragon plays with lightning from his fingertips. He is young and innocent and is playfully experimenting with his powers to see just what he is capable of. There is no fear or hesitation, only curiosity and delight.

Interpretation: After a full week, it is a relief to focus on yourself on Sunday. You seem to have found some delightful new hobby or passion that you can't wait to find out more about and play around with. You have so much hidden talent that you haven't explored yet, it's nice to experiment and push your boundaries with no worries of judgement or pressure, only simple curiosity. 

Overview - Ace of Coins (reversed)

A wise old dragon is at the mouth of a cave, moving away and beckoning to you to follow her. She is an expert at what she does and is willing to share her secrets with you, if you can keep up with her and are willing to learn new things.

Interpretation: The Ace of Coins signify financial beginnings, perhaps new opportunities or investments, and is usually a good sign in any reading. However, its reversal suggests that there might be delays or blockage in manifesting these new beginnings. That seems to be the case as this week's readings seems very focused towards contemplation and reflection and hesitance and delays on taking the next steps. Fortunately, it seems that by Sunday, all hesitancy is gone and replaced by childlike eagerness to explore what comes next. 

New Opportunities and Decisions

I didn't manage to find time to post last week as I was busy arranging my schedule for the new opportunity I had talked about before. 

I ended up deciding not to take it full time as it demanded too long hours and having time for my family is a priority to me. I'm technically on a long working vacation with my family for about six more months before I return home. We live about 8000 miles apart, so it's not like I will be able to see my family often after that.

I am going to help him part-time though, which still works as most of the things he wants me to achieve, I don't have to be there physically so I can still spend time with my family, and during the time I am there, I'll be able to meet new people and work with them to implement what I worked on, which is what I really wanted.

That's the other beauty of oracle reading; it tells you something; New Opportunity, for example, but in the end, it's always up to you to make the decision whether to take it or not, and in my case, whether to take it full time or part-time.

In lots of other cases, there are nuances of decisions we'd still have to make for ourselves. Questions like how will it work, when should I start, who should I work with, how much money/time/effort/etc. should I put into this?

So I love doing oracle readings and other psychic readings, and while I think it's amazing how the Universe works with us, I think we all have to remember that the Universe is only here to help us, not tell us how to live our own lives. We have our own intuition for that.

Today's card is: Letting Go

Our fairy is letting go of all her pent-up emotions and releasing it to the Universe. How apt that letting go is the message for Friday, the start of the weekend.

If you've been struggling too hard to find solutions and aren't getting anywhere, it's time to stop, take a step back and let it go. Stop thinking about it, relax and go do something else. You may find you have a new perspective when you come back to the situation. Perhaps you may even be surprised to find that it has already resolved itself.

Healing Yourself: Go outside and find a strong sturdy tree. Put your hands on it, and transfer all your cares and worries into the tree. Communicate with the tree mentally and thank it for taking on your worries, ask it to transfer its strength and energy to you, and then feel its powerful earth energy transferring back to you.

Today's card is: Look Inside Yourself

A fairy is dancing by herself on a spiderweb. She is facing towards the door of her simple home, carefree and happy, oblivious to the worries and cares of the world. She is content to be alone and doing what she loves doing best, in her favorite place in the world. 

Today's message is to look inside yourself for love and happiness. You don't need someone else to tell you how wonderful you are. You don't need material possessions to prove your worth. You are wonderful and you are worthy of love. You are your best companion, wisest advisor, and biggest fan. 

If you are looking for advice or counsel from friends or outside sources and are getting confused by conflicting advice, it's time to look within and listen to your own intuition. You know what's best for you. 

Healing Yourself: Enjoy some time alone. Allow yourself to have some quiet time when you don't have to worry about anyone or anything else. Take a nice, long, relaxing bath. Read the book you've been wanting to read. Sit outside on the swing and enjoy the day. 

The Universe Knows Your Future

I am feeling very blessed today, and awed by the mysteries of the Universe. The daily oracle that I've posted for the last three days have all miraculously come to pass in the most interesting ways!

Firstly, Monday's Oracle was Positive Expectations, and the message was to not be discouraged about delayed results on a long-standing project. Well, it turned out that on Monday, the foremost thing on my husband's and my minds was the online project we'd been working on for months. We hadn't been seeing results, and we'd been getting discouraged. But with Monday's Oracle reading telling us to keep on going, that the results are near, we recharged and motivated each other to keep going and moving forward!

Then, on Tuesday, the Oracle's message was Parenting and Children, which mentioned being honest with your family, sharing your feelings and healing the relationship. Well, all throughout the day (my family works together), my parents kept mentioning to my brother and me about things they weren't happy about and wanted us to improve on. The honesty was refreshing and I felt that it helped us understand what we want from each other better. I'm just amazed at the accuracy of the Oracles.


Finally, I did today's reading the night before, and didn't realize how relevant it would be to my day today! I had made plans to meet an old friend for breakfast today, he said he wanted to catch up and discuss something with me. So this morning, I went for breakfast with him and he offered me a job!

It was as much a favor for him as it was for me. He needed someone to help with his business, and I had the relevant experience. I wasn't technically looking for another job as I currently had one, but I had considered doing something different, learning something new, and his job offer would allow me to do gain the skills and experience I wanted.

I had forgotten all about the oracle reading for today, but when I returned, I wanted to do a reading for myself to ask for guidance on whether I should accept his offer or stay where I am. I logged on and saw that today's Oracle was New Opportunity, I couldn't help it, I laughed out loud! This job offer literally came out of nowhere, and I couldn't have predicted it, but the Universe knew! How's that for fortune telling?! =)

I am absolutely loving this and I can't wait to see what else the Universe has in store for me!

Are you on the cusp of a momentous decision? Planning a new venture or business opportunity? Do you have a new exciting idea that you're eager to try? Are you even perhaps facing a loss that's a blessing in disguise and will pave the way for new opportunities?

Today's message is to open your eyes and be aware of new opportunities being presented to you! Do not be afraid of stepping into the unknown, the Universe knows you are ready for something new! Believe that you are ready and it is safe for you to start on this new journey!

Healing Yourself: Allow yourself five minutes to contemplate and to let go of old ways that are not working for you anymore. Accept that they have brought to where you are currently, and that a new path is now open for you to continue your journey further. Ask for guidance and protection in your new journey and continuing growth.

Today's card is: Parenting and Children

Do you have a good relationship with your parents and/or children? Are you in the process of mending your family relationships? Are you expecting a new person into your family, either a new child or by marriage?

Today's message is telling you that something positive is about to happen within your family relationships. Perhaps you will be expecting a new member into your family. The fight you'd been having with a loved one may finally be resolved. You will finally be able to make contact with a family member you haven't heard from in a while.

Healing Yourself: Take a moment to face up to any ill feelings you may have had with a family member. Share your feelings honestly, either with that person, or silently to the Universe. Forgive and let go. Spend some quality time, even if it's only for five minutes, today to play with your children or call your parents and talk to them. Spending time with a loved one have soul healing properties. If you are trying to conceive, today is a good day to try for children.

Have you been feeling disappointed, unappreciated, or discouraged? Are you feeling down because you've been working really hard on a project and haven't seen results from it?

Today's healing message is telling you to hang in there, your energies will manifest in positive results very soon! Don't give up now, when you're so close to achieving your dream! Have faith a little longer, keep up your hopes, dreams, manifestations, and affirmations! Your manifestation is taking a little longer than you hoped, but it is coming!

Healing Yourself: Sit outdoors under the moonlight when you are able, release your fears, doubts, and insecurities. Let them blow away in the cool summer breeze. Feel your body relax with the disappearance of your doubts, then open yourself to receive love, strength, and positive energy from the breeze.

I will be posting about tarot and palmistry, and various other methods of divination here. I'm still exploring all the different tools and methods of divination, and I'm finding them all very fascinating.

My first love is tarot, but I have done enough readings to realize that the tarot, and all other divination tools, are just that, tools. The real power of divination comes from the intuition.

Every single one of us are born with a sixth sense; intuition. Unfortunately, most of us aren't taught to develop it, or to even acknowledge it most times. However, divination tools help us focus and develop our intuition, they give our intuition a passage where previously, the paths had been blocked.

Eventually, we realize that we get psychic messages all the time, with or without these tools, but I love the tarot cards too much to completely give them up. Every single card has a story, and when you use a different deck, every card's story changes.

The tarot is a journey, and I'm enjoying every moment exploring place my journey takes me. I hope you will join me in this journey too, and we can be travelling companions.
